What Goes Into a Premier League Transfer? Gerónimo Rulli Reveals All
18 days ago
Gerónimo Rulli takes us through his move to Manchester City and his first days with the club... The Argentinian goalkeeper arrived at City this summer to work with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marcus Bettinelli. At 34, he’s high experienced in European football having represented the likes of Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Ajax, as well as being part of his nation’s squad during their 2022 World Cup success. It’s not Rulli’s first time with City, having briefly been at the club in 2016 before being immediately loaned back to Sociedad. And in this video we see his excitement once he knew he was part of Hugo Viana and Enzo Maresca’s plans and how keen he was to make the transfer happen. Then he goes into detail about what City’s history of great Argentinians, including Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Willy Caballero, means to him. There’s also time for him to meet our fans at the pre-season ‘City Are Back’ event and in a special unveiling at the store. As he comes to the end of his walk around the CFA, he best sums up his feelings with one succinct line. “Even before I wore the shirt, I felt that part of me belonged here at City,” he said. 00:00 Intro 00:22 Welcome to the Vlog 01:13 Medical Checks 03:03 Photoshoot and Media 04:51 Challenge: Name as Many Argentinians as Possible in 15 Seconds 05:56 Exploring the Etihad Stadium 06:44 Signing the Contract 07:07 First Training Session 08:19 Printing the Shirt at the Store 10:06 Meeting the Fans and Saving Penalties 11:16 First Impressions of His Teammates 13:28 The Argentine Legacy at Man City 14:31 Reacting to Sergio Agüero's Goal (93:20) 15:44 The Legacy of Willy Caballero 17:54 The Impact of Pablo Zabaleta 19:47 Why He Became a Goalkeeper 21:43 His Journey to Manchester City 23:08 Family Life 23:52 Visiting the Club Museum 24:41 Finding Sergio Agüero's Ball 25:34 Outro SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=mancity http://www.mancity.com http://www.facebook.com/mancity http://www.twitter.com/mancity http://www.instagram.com/mancity https://www.tiktok.com/@mancity About the Official Man City YouTube Channel: This is the official place to gets videos from Manchester City, including all Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup goals, highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, training, skills, challenges and much more!
